JOB DESCRIPTION:
Full time position working on a new data warehouse initiative. Great position/opportunity, company and location! Will be working in a "multi terabyte" environment. Will redesign Data Warehouse and OLTP Data Warehouse by using one's knowledge and creativity. This very challenging work will require someone to be "on their toes" as they interact with developers and the production environment, conduct performance tuning and monitoring, construct new tables and DB design.

You will be responsible for administering and controlling the activities related to the data planning and development and the establishment of policies and procedures pertaining to its management, security, maintenance and utilization. Sets and monitors standards. You will advise management on data base concepts and functional capabilities.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
Data Modeling for OLTP and data warehousing applications. Create, refresh and maintain production / QA / development databases. Implement and maintain security policy, backup, recovery and DR sites. Write monitoring and maintenance scripts. Performance tuning. Database monitoring and trouble shooting.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • BSCS or similar four year degree.
  • 7+ years of experience as an Oracle production / development DBA.
  • At least 3 years of Oracle 10g experience.
  • Must have very large database (VLDB) experience!
  • Strong performance tuning, Data Warehouse, and OLTP experience.
  • Must have strong SQL, PL/SQL (needs to know the latest features of PL/SQL within the 10g environment) experience.
  • Logical and Physical data modeling for OLTP, OLAP and data warehousing. Database layout design, creation, maintenance, backup, recovery and DB refresh. Data replication tool such as: Advance Replication / Data Guard / Streams / Data Mirror.
  • Database Audit and security experience.
  • Requires strong HP-UX experience.
